The name of our newest leather collection references the origins of the U.S. paper currency system which originated in the early 1860s as a way to fund the Civil War. Up to that point, the only money issued by the U.S. government was in the form of gold and silver coins.

It was the first time legal tender was broadly secured based solely on the credibility of the U.S. government, and not gold and silver, which had been the standard.
